Wipunen Asia deepens its presence in Vietnam with a new Head of Investments

As a Frontier and Emerging Market manager, it’s crucial to possess local know-how when seeking a competitive edge. That’s why we’re delighted to announce that Giang Nguyen has joined Wipunen Asia as our new Head of Investments, Vietnam. Giang, who is based in our Hanoi office, will oversee the firm’s investment and research activities and report to Mikael Nastamo, CEO, Wipunen Asia.

“Giang is a terrific addition to our team, and her appointment further strengthens Wipunen Asia’s on-the-ground presence in Vietnam,” says Mikael. “The timing of her appointment is particularly fitting, as Vietnam is set to deliver the strongest growth in Southeast Asia,” he continues.

With more than 15 years of investment and leadership experience, Giang began her career in the M&A advisory arm of Deloitte before moving to Saigon Securities, Vietnam’s largest brokerage firm, where she managed an equity research team of 15 analysts.

Giang has also developed an extensive business network in Vietnam and commands an exceptional knowledge of the country’s equity market. She holds a bachelor’s degree in corporate finance and is a chartered accountant (ACCA).
